  Mike and anyone curious.
  I suppose if you start reading from start of the chapter
  "The work of harvest" you will not have to read very long before you get to the nub of the facts.About 7 paragraphs in it starts to warm up.

  Sorry Mike, Trying to convert my book into computer terms here....
  My book is not an original. I sold them all years ago and only have photocopies of the main guts/hot stuff now.

  Looking thru that site, the "scripture studies" look like the real thing. Excellent! The marvels of the computer eh?

  The Dawn books are correct and reliable, basically.
  There have been a few alterations.
  Anywhere in the dawn book Volume 2, where the date "1915" appears
  has been altered and originally read "1914".
  Pastor Russell experimenting with a bit of Stalinist history fabrication there.
  Where the "1915" alterations occur, also,some absolute terms have also been altered, from "Completion" to beginning of completion"
  etc.
  The Quote larc put up to start this thread, page 101, volume 2, is one of those instances of alteration.
  The famous "7 predictions" by Russell on page 77, volume 2, have also been altered in the dawn books....

  In case you are not already aware...
  volume3 ,"Thy Kingdom Come", page138 forward thru about page 190.
  Russell writes about Babylonish religion and its trappings.
  No witness could read it and not be stunned.
  It is a portrait of the Org as we know it.

  he went into Great lengths to explain and assure us that Adam didnt fall into the ghastly and abominable practise of....bestiality.

  Yes, since allowing myself to fall under sway of the thinking of the evil one many questions of this nature have entered my own mind.

  What about this "challenge to Gods sovereignty"?
  Where is that matter discussed in scripture?

  What of the fact that, in Eden, God is inaccurate in his statement of the consequences of eating the fruit, wheras Satan's assessment is correct?

  Why would 1/3 of the angels of heaven take side with a rebel who cannot win under any circumstances?
  Or can Satan win?
  Are there rules to the engagement of the forces of light and darkness? What are those rules?. The Bible doesnt explain them.

  Isnt Satan correct in saying that humans only serve God based on a reward/punishment system? The whole point of the conflict in the book of Job.
  If Satan is correct regarding 99 percent of the human population, then why hasnt he been declared the winner of the arguement?
  Does Satan have to produce 100 percent conversion against God to win the arguement? Does God win so long as there is "one righteous man"?

  So many questions. So few answers.
  Dont bother praying to, or questioning the Biblical God seeking knowledge though.Read the Finale of the book of Job. See what God has to say to those who question Him....

  I have never seen the WT passage reproduced by Avengers before.
  Or if I have, Id forgotten it.
  Probably we were so "excited" with expectation that the caution in that passage went in one ear and out the other.
  The passage is from 1968 and fits snugly with the "Eve" angle mentioned.Obviously they were lining themselves up with an explanation just in case they needed it.

  Brother Avengers, greetings.
  It happens that I was there thru this entire phase of WT history and well know the facts.
  Early in 1975 The Watchtower announced "New Light" revealing why Armaggedon might NOT occur in 1975 as expected.
  The light was (Get this) , the difference in time between the creation of Adam, and the creation of Eve.
  The time since ADAMS creation elapsed in 75. 6000 years. But dont forget,Adam was Alone for a period of time before EVE was created. The 6th creative day couldnt end until Woman was formed from the rib.
  We were informed we had to wait for that time period to elapse.
  Obviously, even now, 6000 years has not expired since Eve was created.
  Currently a gap of 26 years and counting...

  Adam sure spent a lot of time by himself didnt he?
  Wonder what he did? Perhaps the subject of a thread offers itself right there...

  "Battle of Armaggedon" on page 619 forward talks about the "Ancient worthies". After Russell and his mates are gone (apparently in the 1910 rapture), Armaggedon will follow (by 1914) then the world will be rebuilt under the Ancient worthies". These will be able to communicate DIRECTLY with the 144000 and act as conduits to Gods spirit. Thus (in my interpretation)the worthies will rule mankind as kings. Curious.So maybe there was going to be a paradise earth after all, just without the Dubs there.

  So thats where Rutherford got THAT idea from.

  page 33 of "The time is at hand" (volume 2 of Studies) states:

  ...."In this chapter we present the Bible evidence which indicates
  that 6000 years from the creation of Adam were completed with AD 1872, and hence that,since 1872AD, we are chronologically entered upon the 7th thousand or the Millenium"...

  So go figure. Its all a bit flexible isnt it.

  Im inclined to think 1874 to 1914 for Armaggedon brother.
  Checking now. If Im wrong I will grovel for forgiveness before your supremeness.

  After a quick look:
  I can see that Christ "returned" in 1874. He recieved his "Kingship" in 1878. And the "harvest' commenced in 1874.

  I give up.Your right.

  Page 635 of "The Battle of Armaggedon" says therell only be a three hour working day in the paradise. How about that one?
